Ben Stokes’ top 3 best performances vs India

Ben Stokes' top 3 best performances vs India

England skipper Ben Stokes has recently declared himself in the best physical condition of his career as he gears up for a crucial home summer where he is expected to lead his side against Team India from June 20th in Leeds with front from the bat and ball.

The star all-rounder has been out of action since tearing his hamstring during England’s tour of NZ in December. However, he must be aiming to mark his comeback with a performance against the Indian team. Given below are his top three performances against Team India.

128 vs India—Rajkot 2016

This was the best knock by skipper Ben Stokes against the Indian team. It took place during the first test match in Rajkot, and his gritty knock allowed his side to draw the game. The left-handed batter has made 124 off 180 balls, featuring 11 fours and one six, and earned accolades from the cricketing world for hitting his well-deserved hundred in Indian conditions.

82 vs India—Chennai 2021

The star player has made 82 off 118 balls, featuring 10 fours and three sixes, to help his side register its biggest win. He stitched the stand with Joe Root, who smacked 218 runs in the same match. The stylish right-handed batter has smacked 218 off 377 balls, featuring 19 fours and two sixes, to help them win this crucial game. The hosts have made 578 and 178, respectively. However, England managed 337 and 192 runs to win this game after rain played the spoilsport in this game.

5/73 vs India—Mohali 2016

The star player has picked up a five-wicket haul while conceding just 73 runs in his 26 overs. However, his best figures against the Indian team went in vain as the hosts won this clash in Punjab. Stokes picked up five wickets in the first innings but remained wicketless in the second innings, which allowed the Indian team to chase down the total to win this game. The visitors have made 283 and 236 runs in the first and second innings, respectively. However, the hosts have made 417 and 104/2 to win this game under Virat Kohli’s leadership.
