One of the two new teams announced prior to the start of the 2022 season was the Gujarat Titans. For around US$750 million, or Rs 5625 crore, CVC Capital Partners won the franchise auction. Prior to the 2022 auction, they selected Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, and Hardik Pandya.
Titans became only the second team after Rajasthan Royals to win the title in their first season. In 2023, the Titans looked like the best team on show, with Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan taking bagfuls of wickets and opener Shubman Gill peaking in a blaze of batting form towards the pointy end. But MS Dhoni’s CSK crew bested them twice in the final three matches to snatch the title from the Titans’ grasp.
The prime reason behind the magic of Titans has been their bowlers and their magical performances. Interestingly, in the last season, it was Titans’ bowlers who occupied all three spots in the list of highest wicket-takers.
Here are three bowlers who can play a significant role for Gujarat Titans:

Shami had a scintillating performance in the last ODI World Cup and was key in India’s sensational performance throughout the tournament. Playing all 17 matches in the last edition, he had picked up as many as 28 wickets and was the winner of the Purple Cap as well. He has been the spearhead of the quality bowling line-up that Gujarat Titans possess.
He has been out of the cricket circuit after India lost the finals due to an injury. There are speculations about his availability and the number of matches he will play if he does so. But one thing is sure whenever he does play, he would be a bowler to watch out for.

Rashid Khan, quite often regarded as the magician of the ball is probably the best spinner today in White Ball Cricket. Batters have a tough time picking his deliveries and often lose their wickets to him. Some try and play out his overs without taking many risks which ultimately means that he has been economical as well.
He was brilliant with his performance in the last season as well where he played all 17 games and had managed to scalp 27 wickets – joint second-highest in the season. He would again be a key bowler who could win them matches on his own.

Mohit was the turnaround bowler for Gujarat Titans in their last season. He was also the bowler who was the most effective in the pressure d final against his former team, Chennai Super Kings. He had picked up three important wickets in the final and had brought his team back into the game that night.
From being selected only as a net bowler after such vast experience and then playing 14 matches for his team and being the joint-highest wicket-taker of the tournament, Sharma did come a long way. He would be a bowler to keep an eye on this season too.
