The Rajasthan Royals pulled off a brilliant surge in the 2026 IPL season to reach the playoffs, where they were eventually beaten by the Gujarat Titans by seven wickets in Qualifier 2.

They made their way deep into the tournament on top of brilliant performances with bat and ball. The explosive top order of new skipper Riyan Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once more did the bulk of the scoring, while the bowling attack was dominated by high-pace tearaways bowling lethal death-overs yorkers.

Here are 3 changes Rajasthan Royals should make ahead of IPL 2027:

3. More stability in bowling the line-up

Rajasthan Royals bowling line-up was one of the best ones on paper. But they often tinkered with the bowling combinations due to team combination and injuries. Jofra Archer led RR bowling attack brilliantly with the ball, picking up 25 wickets with an economy of 9.32.

But when it comes to other bowlers, it was not the same case. The likes of Sandeep Sharma, Sushant Mishra, Tushar Deshpande, and Ravi Bishnoi got only few chances throughout IPL 2026, but were eventually dropped at some stage. Even Ravindra Jadeja had to miss a few games with injury. This never gave the bowling line-up to settle down. Next year, they would want to come up with better bowling plans.

2. Get a premier Indian pacer

Every team dreams of having two premium fast bowlers in their arsenal, which RR had in IPL 2026 with Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger. The duo picked up 39 wickets between them.

But playing these two together means RR can field only two more overseas players in their playing XI. If they manage to acquire the services of any quality Indian pacer who can bowl 140-plus, it will somewhat solve their problems next season.

1. Less reliance on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi took IPL 2026 by storm when he smashed 776 runs with a strike rate of 237.30. The left-hander was the best batter of the tournament. But for the majority of the season, RR’s batting line-up relied heavily on Vaibhav’s heroics.

No other batter apart from him had a standout season, that cost them a few matches. The next best batter for RR was Dhruv Jurel who scored 515 runs. If they get their batting order sorted ahead of the new season, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi leading the pack, RR can become a solid team.
