PAK vs WI Match Prediction | 2nd Test | Who will win today’s Pakistan vs West Indies Match?

Pakistan vs West Indies | 2nd Test Match Preview

The 2nd Test between Pakistan and West Indies will be played at Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Tarouba, Trinidad, beginning on Saturday, August 1. The match is scheduled to start at 10:00 AM local time (2:00 PM GMT / 7:30 PM IST).

West Indies head into the second Test with confidence after securing a commanding 90-run victory in the series opener. Their fast-bowling unit, led by Jayden Seales, dismantled Pakistan’s batting lineup, bowling them out for just 120 in the fourth innings. The hosts will be aiming to clinch the series by producing another disciplined all-round performance.

The West Indies batting lineup features Kraigg Brathwaite, Mikyle Louis, Keacy Carty, Brandon King, Alick Athanaze, and Shai Hope. While the batting struggled for consistency in the first Test, Brathwaite’s experience at the top and Hope’s reliability in the middle order remain crucial. Brandon King and Athanaze are capable of playing aggressive knocks, while Louis will be eager to make a bigger contribution.

West Indies also possess useful all-round options in Justin Greaves, Roston Chase, and Jason Holder. Holder’s experience with both bat and ball adds stability, Chase provides valuable off-spin alongside dependable batting, and Greaves offers balance in the lower middle order.

Their bowling attack is spearheaded by Jayden Seales, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Jason Holder, and Jomel Warrican. Seales was outstanding in the opening Test, while Alzarri and Shamar Joseph consistently troubled the Pakistan batters with pace and bounce. Holder’s accuracy and Warrican’s left-arm spin make the attack well-rounded in all conditions.

Pakistan will be desperate to level the series after a disappointing batting display in the first Test. Their batting lineup includes Imam-ul-Haq, Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, and Mohammad Rizwan. Babar Azam and Rizwan remain the backbone of the batting unit, while Imam and Abdullah will be expected to provide a stronger start after the top-order collapse in the opening match.

Pakistan’s all-round strength comes from Salman Ali Agha, Faheem Ashraf, and Sajid Khan, all of whom can contribute with both bat and ball. Their performances will be vital if Pakistan are to bounce back in the series.

The visitors’ bowling attack features Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Sajid Khan, and Noman Ali. Shaheen and Naseem possess the ability to strike early with the new ball, while Abbas’ accuracy and the spin duo of Sajid and Noman could play a significant role if the surface offers turn later in the match.

The Brian Lara Cricket Academy generally provides assistance for fast bowlers early in the game, with seam movement available during the first two days. As the match progresses, the surface tends to slow down, bringing spinners into the contest. A first-innings total of around 280-320 could prove highly competitive.

Both teams possess quality pace attacks, but West Indies will take confidence from their dominant display in the first Test. Pakistan must improve significantly with the bat if they are to avoid another defeat and keep the series alive.

Expert Prediction: West Indies enter the second Test as slight favourites after their impressive victory in the opening match. Their pace attack is in outstanding form, while Pakistan’s batting has several questions to answer. If the visitors’ top order fails again, West Indies are well placed to secure another win and seal the series.
