The second T20I of the three-match series of the Pakistan Women’s Tour of Sri Lanka is set to take place at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota on Sunday, August 2. The host side leads the series 1-0, having won the first T20I by six wickets.

Pakistan Women put on a competitive total of 176 for 7 in the first T20I after being put into bat. Opener Shawaal Zulfiqar top-scored with a 41-ball 63 while stand-in skipper Muneeba Ali scored a 24-ball 42. Kavisha Dilhari picked up figures of 2 for 36 from her four overs, with the Lankan bowlers picking up regular wickets in the back-end overs. 

For Sri Lanka women, the chase was made easy by opener Imesha Dulani’s stunning century. Dulani scored an unbeaten 101 off just 64 balls, hitting 17 fours and a six in her knock to take the hosts home an over to spare. Captain Chamari Athapaththu scored a 22-ball 39 to provide the side with a brilliant start before Dulani’s heroics.

The pitch is expected to favour batters, allowing for genuine strokeplay due to the true nature of the surface.
