WPL 2026 – Predicting the top 3 player battles for match 12

Gujarat Giants are set to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in match No. 12 of the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Monday, January 19.

The Giants are placed at No. 3 on the points table, having won two games and lost as many. The Ashleigh Gardner-led side started the campaign with consecutive wins before suffering back-to-back defeats.

These two teams played earlier in the season in Navi Mumbai, and Bengaluru emerged victorious by 32 runs, successfully defending a 183-run target.

1. Smriti Mandhana vs Renuka Singh

Smriti Mandhana played a gem of an innings in Bengaluru’s last game against Delhi Capitals. She amassed 96 off 61 balls and will be high on confidence heading into the game against Gujarat. If Mandhana gets going, the Royal Challengers’ batting lineup looks even more formidable.

On the other hand, Renuka Singh will look to dismiss her compatriot with the new ball. The right-arm pacer has picked up four wickets in as many matches so far this season. While she has been nowhere near her best, Monday could be the day when she excels.

2. Sophie Devine vs Lauren Bell

Sophie Devine has played some excellent cricket so far. The veteran all-rounder has aggregated 149 runs in four innings at an average of 37.25. Her strike rate of 191.03 shows how destructive she has been so far in the tournament. Devine will look to get her team off to a flying start on Monday.

However, Lauren Bell could have something to say about that. The England speedster has bowled some brilliant spells with the new ball. She has eight wickets from four matches at an average of 10.63 and an economy rate of 5.31. Mandhana would want her new-ball bowler to be among the wickets once again.

3. Ashleigh Gardner vs Shreyanka Patil

Ashleigh Gardner is a fantastic player of spin. She has been in decent form, scoring 137 runs in four matches. She is striking at 163.10. Gardner’s wicket will be key for Bengaluru, and Shreyanka Patil could be the spinner who will have to watch out for on Monday.

Shreyanka Patil has been in fine form, registering eight wickets in four matches at an average of 18.63. While Gardner can play spin well, Patil has been giving the ball ample flight, and some are keeping low as well. The Indian off-spinner will look to dismiss Gardner cheaply in the middle overs.
