Vida Kovai Kings Predicted Playing XI for Match 21 of TNPL 2026 against Chepauk Super Gillies

Vida Kovai Kings will look to build on their emphatic victory in their previous outing when they take on Chepauk Super Gillies in Match 21 of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2026 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday, August 18. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM IST.

Kovai head into the contest with considerable confidence after registering a massive 116-run victory over Trichy Grand Cholas. After posting 201/6, the Kings’ bowling attack dismantled Trichy for just 85 in 16.1 overs.

The victory was a much-needed boost for a side that had lost three consecutive matches before returning to winning ways. With the majority of their players contributing in the previous game, Kovai are unlikely to make significant changes to their combination.

Here is the predicted Playing XI of Vida Kovai Kings for Match 21 against Chepauk Super Gillies.

1. S Radhakrishnan

S Radhakrishnan is expected to open the innings after playing an aggressive cameo in the previous game. He scored 24 off just 12 deliveries, striking at 200, and provided Vida Kovai Kings with early momentum.

His role will be to maximise the powerplay and put pressure on Chepauk’s new-ball bowlers. With the Super Gillies coming off a 240-run performance against Madurai Panthers, Kovai will need their top order to match that intensity.

2. Suresh Lokeshwar (wk)

Suresh Lokeshwar is likely to continue as the wicketkeeper-batter. He provides stability at the top and will also have the responsibility of keeping wickets against Chepauk’s dangerous batting lineup.

The experienced campaigner could be particularly important if Kovai lose an early wicket and need someone to anchor the innings.

3. Balasubramaniam Sachin

Balasubramaniam Sachin is arguably the most important batter in Kovai’s XI at the moment. He produced an outstanding 77 off 45 balls in the win over Trichy, smashing six fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 171.11.

His ability to combine conventional strokeplay with aggressive hitting makes him an ideal No. 3. Chepauk will be aware that allowing Sachin to settle could prove costly, particularly at a venue where a set batter can control the tempo of an innings.

4. Andre Siddharth

Andre Siddharth should retain his position in the middle order. The youngster gives Kovai another technically sound batting option and can accelerate once the foundation has been laid.

His role could be particularly important if Sachin bats deep into the innings, as Siddharth can take on the responsibility of maintaining the scoring rate during the middle overs.

5. Shahrukh Khan (c)

Captain Shahrukh Khan is expected to occupy the No. 5 position. The powerful right-hander remains one of the biggest match-winners in the Kovai squad.

Although he was not required to play a major role with the bat in the previous victory, his finishing ability makes him a crucial component of the lineup. If Kovai have wickets in hand heading into the final five overs, Shahrukh can change the complexion of the innings rapidly.

6. RS Ambrish

RS Ambrish could continue as an all-round option in the lower middle order. He made an impact with both bat and ball against Trichy, scoring 18 off eight deliveries at a strike rate of 225 before claiming two wickets.

His ability to contribute in both departments provides Shahrukh with valuable flexibility. Ambrish could be used as a finisher with the bat and a change-up option with the ball.

7. Kta Madhava Prasad

Madhava Prasad should retain his place after an excellent finishing contribution in the previous game. He remained unbeaten on 38 off 24 balls, striking at 158.33, and helped Kovai cross the 200-run mark.

His ability to attack in the latter stages gives the Kings excellent batting depth. If Shahrukh and Ambrish provide the platform, Madhava could once again be given licence to go after the bowlers.

8. K Deeban Lingesh

K Deeban Lingesh was one of the stars of Kovai’s bowling performance against Trichy, claiming three wickets for 24 runs.

He will be expected to continue as one of the team’s main pace options. His ability to pick up wickets during the middle overs could prove crucial against a Chepauk batting lineup featuring Mokit Hariharan and Narayan Jagadeesan.

9. Manimaran Siddharth

Manimaran Siddharth should retain his place after producing an economical spell in the previous match. He conceded only three runs from his three overs and claimed a wicket, playing an important role in restricting Trichy.

His ability to keep the scoring rate under control will be particularly valuable against Chepauk’s aggressive top order.

10. Jhathavedh Subramanyan

Jhathavedh Subramanyan is another bowler who comes into the match in excellent form. He claimed three wickets for just 10 runs in four overs against Trichy, finishing with an outstanding economy rate of 2.50.

His performance will give him plenty of confidence ahead of the clash with Chepauk. If he can reproduce that accuracy at Chepauk, he could cause significant problems for the Super Gillies’ batters.

11. G Kishoor

G Kishoor is expected to complete the bowling attack. He provides another specialist option and gives Kovai a balanced combination of pace and spin.
