Top 3 Wicket-Takers of TNPL 2026 After League Stage

Top 3 Wicket-Takers of TNPL 2026 After League Stage

The league stage of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2026 has witnessed several impressive bowling performances, with pacers and spinners making their presence felt across different venues. As the tournament moves into the playoffs, the race for the Purple Cap has also intensified, with three bowlers emerging as the leading wicket-takers after the league phase.

Trichy Grand Cholas pacer K Easwaran leads the charts with 14 wickets, followed by Vida Kovai Kings’ Jhathavedh Subramanyan with 13 wickets and his teammate K Deeban Lingesh with 12 wickets. The trio have played an important role in their respective teams’ campaigns and will be expected to deliver once again during the high-pressure knockout fixtures.

Here is a closer look at the top three wicket-takers of TNPL 2026 after the league stage.

3. K Deeban Lingesh – 12 wickets

Team: Vida Kovai Kings

K Deeban Lingesh completes the top three with 12 wickets after the league stage.

The all-rounder has been another key component of Vida Kovai Kings‘ impressive campaign. His wicket-taking ability has given Shahrukh Khan another dependable bowling option and allowed the captain to rotate his attack according to match situations.

Lingesh has also demonstrated his ability to produce match-changing spells. His best figures in the tournament stand at 3/14, while he has regularly contributed with crucial breakthroughs.

His importance was evident in Kovai’s latest league-stage fixture against Trichy, where he claimed 3/24 as the Kings bowled their opponents out for 85. Along with Subramanyan, he played a major role in dismantling the Trichy batting order.

Lingesh’s presence gives Kovai considerable depth in the bowling department. The fact that two of the tournament’s top three wicket-takers belong to the same team highlights the strength of their attack.

With 12 wickets, he is only two behind Easwaran and one behind Subramanyan. Therefore, he too remains firmly in contention for the Purple Cap heading into the playoffs.

2. Jhathavedh Subramanyan – 13 wickets

Team: Vida Kovai Kings

Just one wicket behind Easwaran is Vida Kovai Kings’ Jhathavedh Subramanyan, who has claimed 13 wickets during the league stage.

Subramanyan has been one of the major reasons behind Kovai’s impressive bowling performances this season. His ability to pick up wickets consistently has provided captain Shahrukh Khan with a reliable attacking option.

The bowler has also shown excellent control. His economy rate has remained impressive, and earlier in the tournament, he featured prominently among the competition’s most economical bowlers.

Subramanyan’s value was once again evident in Kovai’s recent 116-run victory over Trichy Grand Cholas. He produced a sensational 3/10 spell, helping dismantle the Trichy batting line-up as the Grand Cholas were bowled out for just 85.

That performance underlined his ability to deliver when the team needs wickets.

The timing of his form could not be better, with Kovai now preparing for the knockout stages. His ability to strike during the powerplay and middle overs will be vital against strong batting line-ups.

With only one wicket separating him from Easwaran, Subramanyan remains a genuine contender for the Purple Cap. A strong performance in the playoffs could see him overtake the Trichy pacer.

1. K Easwaran – 14 wickets

Team: Trichy Grand Cholas

K Easwaran has been the standout bowler of TNPL 2026 so far, finishing the league stage at the top of the wicket-taking charts with 14 wickets.

The Trichy Grand Cholas pacer has been particularly effective at providing breakthroughs and has emerged as one of the most reliable wicket-taking options in their bowling attack. His performances have been crucial for a Trichy side that has relied heavily on its bowling unit throughout the campaign.

Easwaran’s ability to attack the stumps while maintaining disciplined lengths has made him a difficult bowler to negotiate. He has also demonstrated that he can operate effectively during different phases of an innings, rather than being restricted to the powerplay.

One of his notable performances came against Vida Kovai Kings, when he dismissed S Radhakrishnan early after the batter had started aggressively. Easwaran eventually finished with 2/41 in that match.
