Younis became the first Pakistani batter to score a double-century in Test cricket in India. Younis made 267 runs off 504 deliveries in the third Test of the Bengaluru Test in 2005. Pakistan lost the first two wickets for just 13 runs before Younis added 232 runs for the third wicket with Shan Masood.
