Sri Lanka batted first and declared their innings on 644 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Younis made 313 runs, and Pakistan declared their innings on 765 runs for the loss of six wickets. Younis won the Player of the Match award for his batting performance.
2. 267 vs India – Bengaluru, 2005
Younis became the first Pakistani batter to score a double-century in Test cricket in India. Younis made 267 runs off 504 deliveries in the third Test of the Bengaluru Test in 2005. His innings helped Pakistan score 570 runs in the first innings before India replied with 449. Pakistan declared their innings on 261 runs for the loss of two wickets in the second innings. India made 214 runs in their fourth innings and lost the match by 168 runs.
3. 171* vs Sri Lanka – Kandy, 2015
In July 2015, Pakistan travelled to Sri Lanka to play a three-match series. Both teams won one of the first two matches and reached Kandy to play the fourth Test. Pakistan had to chase a target of 377 runs in the fourth innings to win the game with one and a half day of play. Pakistan lost the first two wickets for just 13 runs before Younis added 232 runs for the third wicket with Shan Masood. He remained unbeaten on 171 off 271 deliveries and helped Pakistan chase their highest fourth innings target.
