Top 3 performances of Nawroz Mangal in International Cricket

Nawroz Mangal is one of the icons of Afghanistan cricket. He was their skipper when they attained the ODI status in 2009 and qualified for the T20 World Cup in 2010. Over the years, Afghanistan has become one of the best cricket teams. But the foundation to it was laid by the likes of Mangal, Mohammad Nabi, Shapoor Zadran, Hamid Hasan, and others.

Mangal grew up in the Pakistani refugee camps, where his interest for cricket grew. Taj Malik, the then Afghanistan coach, played a key role in convincing an initially reluctant Mangal’s father to allow him to play cricket. Mangal played 49 ODIs and 32 T20Is for Afghanistan and became one of their most influential cricketers.
