Top 3 knocks by Rishabh Pant in Test cricket

Top 3 knocks by Rishabh Pant in Test cricket

Rishab Pant is the superstar of indian cricket. The 27-year-old wicketkeeper batter from Uttarakhand is now one of the senior batters in the Indian team. As the Indian team is touring England for a five-match test series, Pant is one of the most valuable players who can turn the game on his own. Like Ben Stokes, Pant’s counterattacking and ability to play spin well make him a destructive batter. His test records prove why he is one of the modern greats in test cricket.

3. 89(138) vs Australia (4th BGT Test- 2021, Brisbane)

Talking about his greatest test knocks, his match-winning innings against Australia on a tough Brisbane pitch helped India retain the BGT series. The 2021 Border-Gavaskar trophy series is the best test series between India and Australia in many years. India went there as underdogs and won the series with an inexperienced team against the mighty Aussies. Thanks to Rishab Pant’s incredible knock of 89*, which helped India win the series.

2. 146(111) vs England (5th Test- 2018, Birmingham)

It was a sensational knock by Rishab Pant in the fifth test against England during the India-England test series in 2018. Pant scored a magnificent century by hitting 146 (111) balls. Though India lost the test match, Pant’s knock was appreciated by many cricketing greats as it was the first ever century by an Indian wicketkeeper on English soil. His counterattack against Jack Leach was one of the best in recent times.

1. 159(189) vs Australia (4th test- 2018/209 BGT, Sydney)

Rishab Pant scored his highest ever test score against Australia at Sydney during the 2018-2019 Border-Gavaskar trophy series. Pant wanted to take the game into his own hands with some aggressive shots while Cheteshwar Pujara was playing a sensible knock on the other end. The Australian bowlers were already worn out because of Pujara. Pant saw the opportunity to take on the bowlers. His incredible 159 runs helped India post a massive total on the board, and only the rain came to rescue the Australians in the end.
