Top 3 highest successful run-chases for Gujarat Titans in IPL

Top 3 highest successful run-chases for Gujarat Titans in IPL

Gujarat Titans made their IPL debut in 2022 along with Lucknow Super Giants and have made rapid strides in just four seasons. GT won the title in their debut season beating Rajasthan Royals in a one-sided encounter under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya. In 2023, GT nearly pulled off a repeat performance as they reached the finals but were beaten by Chennai Super Kings in a last ball thriller.

The Titans are known for their amazing batting quality with the likes of Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler in the ranks. The inclusion of Sherfane Rutherford, Shah Rukh Khan, and the presence of players like Rahul Tewatia gives Gujarat a strong enough depth. The Titans have been part of many amazing chases in the past. Last over win over Punjab Kings in 2022 is one of the best moments in GT’s IPL journey so far.

Here are the top three chases for GT in IPL history

3. 199/5 vs SRH – IPL 2022

Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first and scored 196 on the board at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Abhishek Sharma’s 65 and Aiden Markram’s 56 helped SRH post a huge total on the board. Shashank Singh’s 6-ball 25 not out with the bat gave SRH the impetus they needed in the final few overs. Wriddhiman Saha got things off to a good start, scoring 68 runs. SRH pacer Umran Malik then picked five wickets in quick time to leave GT at 140 for 5 needing 56 runs from 24 balls. Rahul Tewatia (40*) and Rashid Khan’s 31 not out helped GT chase down the score with five wickets in hand off the last ball of the game.

2. 204/3 vs DC – IPL 2025

The first meeting between Delhi and Gujarat in the 2025 season happened at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Delhi had batted first and scored 203 on the board for the loss of eight wickets. Skipper Axar Patel was the top scorer with 39, while Ashutosh Sharma scored 37. Karun Nair and Tristan Stubbs scored 31 each as Prasidh Krishna picked four wickets with the ball. Titans chased down the target with seven wickets to spare and four balls left in the game. Jos Buttler was the best batter for the home team with an unbeaten 97, which came off 54 balls.

1. 205/0 vs DC – IPL 2025

For the second time in a single season, Delhi had lost despite scoring a huge total on the board. Unlike their last meeting in Ahmedabad, this time the Capitals could score only 199 runs. KL Rahul raced to his fifth IPL century and his first with the Capitals while Abhishek Porel (30), Axar Patel (25), and Tristan Stubbs (21*) batted well to give the senior batter the support he needed. In reply, Sai Sudharsan blazed to his second IPL ton as he was not out on 108, and skipper Gill was not out on 93. This was the best chase pulled off by GT in their IPL history
