Top 3 bowling performances of Shaun Pollock in Tests

Shaun Pollock was one of the best players of his era and the former South African was the best bowler from his country to reach 400 Test wickets. Shaun Pollock played 108 matches for his country and ended up with 421 wickets

During his esteemed career, Shaun Pollock had picked 16 fifers and on one occasion he had picked a ten-wicket haul in the game. His best bowling figures were 7/78 and had bowled over 24,000 deliveries for his national side.

His last game was against West Indies at Kingsmead in Durban. In the first innings, Shaun Pollock picked 4/35 and in his final innings, he ended up with 1/50 with Runako Morton as his final wicket.

In the early phase of his career, Shaun Pollock was known to be a quick pacer with the ability to clock good speeds. Pollock claimed his first-ever fifer when he was bowling against England. After getting 2 wickets in the first innings, Pollock was in his element in the second innings. His 5/32 included the wickets of Alec Stewart, Graeme Hick, and  Jack Russell before getting rid of Dominic Cork and Angus Fraser.

Shaun Pollock was already the South African skipper when he welcomed Sri Lanka for a Test series. During the Cape Town Test, Shaun Pollock picked 6/30 to help his side to a huge win by an innings and 229 runs. Pollock got the wickets of Marvan Atappatu, Sanath Jayasuriya, Mahela Jayawardene, and Russell Arnold. The next two wickets came in the form of Nuwan Zoysa and Muttiah Muralitharan to bowl out the visitors for 95.

Having already lost the first two tests, South Africa wanted to win in Adelaide to take some consolation. South Africa batted first and scored 517 runs on the board with four batters scoring fifties and Brian McMillan scoring 87 not out. Shaun Pollock then picked 7/87 with the ball as he ran through the Aussie batting which saw Mark Taylor carry his bat with 169 not out.
