Jos Buttler is one of the finest hard-hitters in limited-overs cricket. The England white-ball captain is known for demolishing the bowlers with his incredible striking. He is the highest run-scorer for England in T20Is and one of only five English players to have scored a century in the shorter format. One of Buttler’s match-winning knocks came in the 2016 T20 World Cup match against Sri Lanka. Batting in the middle order, the right-hander amassed an unbeaten 66 off 37 deliveries and helped his side post a competitive total of 171/4. Sri Lanka could score only 161 as England won by 10 runs.

2. 80*(49) vs India, Adelaide, 2022, T20 World Cup semi-final

Buttler and Alex Hales turned the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final match against India into a one-sided affair. Batting first, India somehow managed to post a target of 169 runs. In reply, both the English openers batted mercilessly to steer their side to a 10-wicket win. Buttler scored 80* off 49 balls, while Hales racked up 86 off 47 balls.

Buttler’s highest T20I score and only century in the format came in the 2021 T20 World Cup match against Sri Lanka. England were asked to bat first and they suffered a horror start, losing a string of wickets. However, Buttler hung on at one end and struck a brilliant ton to help them reach 163/4 in 20 overs. The English bowlers put on a spirited performance to bowl out Sri Lanka for 137 runs.
