Three reasons why England won their first Test match against India

The final day of the first Test match saw England chase 350 runs. With Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley giving a good start, England were wicketless until lunch. England eventually got back on track when Joe Root and Ben Stokes controlled the innings. Even when Ben Stokes lost his wicket, Jamie Smith shared a good partnership of 71 runs with Joe Root to win the game. 

3. Collapse of Indian tailenders:

In both innings, the tailenders for India failed to support. In the first innings, the lower order could not even score ten runs, and in the second innings, all three pacers were removed on a duck. The squad ultimately fell short of adding a few runs in comparison to England’s tailenders.
