New Zealand are leading the three-match ODI series by 2-0. In the second game, New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 84 runs. Pakistan played the worst cricket against New Zealand. So far, Pakistan has managed to win only one game in New Zealand in their ongoing white ball tour. Even though most of the senior players are missing from the current squad, New Zealand are still on the verge of winning the ODI series by 3-0 against Pakistan.

For the ODI series, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam returned to the squad, but their presence did not have a significant impact on the team. This is the last match before the Pakistan Super League gets started. However, Pakistan aim to win the last game, which will save them from the whitewash.

In the third ODI, he would cross the 2000 runs mark for New Zealand. Mitchell Hay gives support to the batting line-up. In the last game, he missed out on scoring a century by just one run. He scored 99 runs and remained not out. Ahead of the third ODI, he hopes to stay in form as the Kiwis want to whitewash Pakistan in the ODI series.
