Predicting England’s top 3 players for their 5th T20I against India

Brendon McCullum began life as the white ball coach of England with a series loss to India during the T20I series in Pune on Friday. Jos Buttler sported a pensive smile on his face after the game on Friday which the hosts won by 15 runs. England lost the game despite getting a great start while chasing 182 runs to win.

Jos Buttler speaking at the end of the game said “We started brilliantly, taking wickets in the powerplay and at the end of the batting powerplay, we were in a great position. We should have gone on to win the game. We did some good things in the game. We dropped Dube’s first ball and he went on to play a good innings. With the bat, we were in a fantastic position and lost a couple of wickets quickly”

Here are the likely three best performers for England for their 5th match against India

3- Harry Brook

Harry Brook

Young batting sensation Harry Brooks returned to form with his 51 runs off just 25 balls. The right-handed batter kept England in the race for a win till the time he was in the middle. England lost their momentum after Brook was out to Chakravarthy in the 15th over of the chase. Brook didn’t have a great start to the series but finally seemed to find his form and his timing with the bat in Pune to take the attack to the Indian bowlers.

2- Saqib Mahmood

Jos Buttler stunned many fans when he decided to rest Mark Wood and include Saqib Mahmood in the playing XI. The 27-year-old did well in his first-ever appearance on Indian soil as he picked three wickets in his first over and topped it up with a maiden over. Mahmood will like the surface Mumbai tends to offer with the extra pace and bounce on offer under lights that could test the batter’s technique.

1- Ben Duckett

Ben Duckett

Left-handed batter Ben Duckett was woefully out of form during the first two games of the series. The 30-year-old finally found form when he scored a fifty during the third game in Rajkot. Duckett continued his blazing form with the bat in Pune as he hit 39 off 19 balls with 7 fours and a six to help his side get off to a great start. Duckett will be one of the main players to watch out for during the final T20I in Mumbai on Sunday.
