Bangladesh is celebrating after an incredible eight-run victory over Pakistan in the 2nd T20I at Mirpur. With the series level, the third T20I, which takes place at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, should be another contest, surely with plenty to play for. The valiant and energetic attitude of the Bangladesh players has left the fans buzzing, and Pakistan will be looking to hit back. Here’s a suggested Bangladesh XI who will look to keep the momentum and win the series.
Openers

The combination of Bangladesh’s opening batsmen is very important for setting the innings. Mohammad Naim tends to start slowly at times, and after scoring just 3 off 7 balls in the last match, which really didn’t help him, he is still a reliable opening batsman who can play long innings while making partnerships.
That he can be patient and aggressive is a powerful combination for the top order! Emon put on an attacking display, smashing 13 off 14 deliveries, including a boundary and a six. Their contrasting personalities and approaches can complement each other; Naim’s patient approach versus Parvez’s ability to score runs quickly gives Bangladesh the characteristic strong start they want to see when batting at the Mirpur stadium in batting-friendly conditions.
Middle Order

Captain Litton Das is at the point of Bangladesh’s innings with his experience and leadership. Litton only scored 8 in the previous game; however, there is no question of Litton’s experience and knowledge of the game, or his ability to assess when to kick on, when required. The only other contributing factor was Jaker Ali, who scored a valuable 55 off 48 balls at a strike rate of 114.58, displaying considerable experience and timing to help steady the middle order.
Jaker scored five fours and, importantly, five sixes, showing he can handle situations whether batting to make a target or chasing one. The combination of Litton and Jaker provides a spine to help stabilise the innings and help create a foundation for the lower middle order to explode from.
All-Rounders

Mahedi Hasan revealed Bangladesh’s one-day prowess as an all-rounder and was awarded Cricinfo’s MVP based on his overall performance. He could score 33 runs from 25 balls, with a strike rate of 132, and took two wickets. He’s a seasoned all-rounder whose abilities strengthen any squad in batting and bowling departments. Tanzim Hasan Sakib played the role of an all-rounder coming in to bat late in the order to score 7 runs off 4 balls and inducing the Bangladesh batsmen into a two-wicket haul.
Bowlers

Shoriful Islam was the leading bowler, taking 3 important wickets and only 17 runs in 4 overs at an economy of 4.25. Shoriful is a threat always as he swings the ball, and he’s consistently increasing the pressure at the death. Mustafizur Rahman, while only economical and couldn’t take any wickets in this game, is an experienced operator who can deceive batsmen with his variations and cutters on sub-continent pitches. Rishad Hossain, while expensive in his bowling, took one wicket and can also create surprises with his pace and bounce.
Bangladesh’s assumed XI is an excellent one on paper, including strong front-liners Mohammad Naim and Parvez Hossain Emon, a dependable middle order headlined by Litton Das and Jaker Ali, aggressive and effective all-rounders Mahedi Hasan and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and a bowling attack led by Shoriful Islam and Mustafizur Rahman that should be strong enough to counter Pakistan. If Bangladesh can keep their rhythm and resolve, they will be in a strong position to win the series at home.
