Predicted Playing XI of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Match 28 of CPL 2026 against Guyana Amazon Warriors

Predicted Playing XI of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Match 28 of CPL 2026 against Guyana Amazon Warriors

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots will look to return to winning ways when they take on Guyana Amazon Warriors in Match 28 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 at Providence Stadium in Guyana on September 6. The Patriots have endured an inconsistent campaign so far, but they will have plenty of firepower at their disposal for the crucial clash.

The Patriots come into the fixture after beating Saint Lucia Kings by five wickets in their previous outing on September 3. Their latest XI featured Johnson Charles, Kyle Mayers, Andre Fletcher, Dasun Shanaka, Jason Holder, Wanindu Hasaranga, Alick Athanaze, Navin Bidaisee, Naseem Shah, Jeremiah Louis and Ashmead Nedd.

With that combination delivering a much-needed victory, St Kitts and Nevis are expected to retain a largely similar XI against the Warriors. The side has a strong mix of experienced CPL campaigners, explosive batters and quality all-rounders.

1. Johnson Charles

Johnson Charles is expected to open the innings for the Patriots. The veteran right-hander remains one of the most accomplished batters in CPL history and was specifically drafted by the Patriots for the 2026 season.

Charles’ ability to attack from the first ball makes him a crucial player at the top. Against Guyana’s varied bowling attack, he will need to make the most of the powerplay and provide the Patriots with a strong platform.

2. Kyle Mayers

Kyle Mayers should continue alongside Charles at the top of the order.

The left-hander brings both power and versatility to the Patriots’ batting lineup. He can target the new ball aggressively and also provide useful overs with his medium pace if required.

Mayers’ ability to contribute in both departments makes him an important part of Jason Holder’s plans.

3. Andre Fletcher (WK)

Andre Fletcher is likely to retain the wicketkeeping gloves and occupy a key position in the top order.

The experienced Caribbean batter is one of the leading run-scorers in CPL history and was retained by the Patriots for the 2026 season.

Fletcher has also been in good form recently, making him a major threat to the Warriors during the powerplay and middle overs. His experience in T20 cricket could prove particularly valuable on what should be a competitive Providence surface.

4. Dasun Shanaka

Dasun Shanaka has emerged as an important middle-order option for the Patriots.

The Sri Lankan all-rounder has provided stability and power in the middle overs, while also giving Holder another seam-bowling option. Shanaka was among the players who featured in the Patriots’ most recent XI against Saint Lucia Kings.

His ability to finish innings strongly could become important if Guyana’s bowlers make early inroads.

5. Jason Holder (C)

Captain Jason Holder will continue to be one of the most important players in the Patriots’ XI.

Holder provides balance with his ability to contribute with both bat and ball. He can bowl at different stages of the innings and remains a dangerous lower-order hitter when the Patriots need quick runs.

His tactical decisions will also be tested against a Guyana side playing at home.

6. Wanindu Hasaranga

Wanindu Hasaranga is expected to retain his place as the Patriots’ premier spin-bowling all-rounder.

The Sri Lankan leg-spinner is capable of breaking partnerships in the middle overs, while his batting gives the Patriots additional depth. His matchup against Guyana’s left-handed middle-order batters, particularly Shimron Hetmyer, could be one of the key contests of the game.

Hasaranga’s ability to contribute in multiple departments makes him difficult to leave out.

7. Alick Athanaze

Alick Athanaze should continue in the lower-middle order.

The left-handed batter offers another aggressive option and can increase the scoring rate when required. He is also capable of rotating the strike effectively, which could be important if Guyana’s spinners manage to control the boundary flow.

Athanaze’s ability to handle spin will be particularly valuable at Providence Stadium.

8. Navin Bidaisee

Navin Bidaisee is likely to retain his place after featuring in the Patriots’ latest victory.

The all-rounder provides additional batting depth while also offering an off-spin option. His flexibility allows Holder to adjust his bowling combinations depending on the match situation.

With the Patriots possessing several frontline bowling options, Bidaisee’s role could be focused on maintaining balance in the XI.

9. Naseem Shah

Naseem Shah should lead the Patriots’ pace attack.

The Pakistan quick brings genuine speed and the ability to generate movement with the new ball. He can also be trusted during the death overs, making him one of the most important wicket-taking options in the lineup.

Against Guyana’s aggressive opening pair, Naseem will be expected to make an early breakthrough.

10. Jeremiah Louis

Jeremiah Louis is expected to retain his place in the pace attack.

The local seamer has been a regular part of the Patriots’ bowling plans and gives Holder another option to attack the opposition’s top order. His knowledge of Caribbean conditions could be useful against Guyana’s batters.

Louis will likely share responsibility for the middle and death overs alongside Holder and Naseem.

11. Ashmead Nedd

Ashmead Nedd should complete the Patriots’ predicted XI.

The left-arm spinner adds variation to a bowling unit already containing Hasaranga. Nedd can operate during the powerplay or middle overs and will be tasked with slowing down Guyana’s scoring rate.

His matchup against the Warriors’ right-handed batters could influence how Holder deploys him.
