Andre Adams is one of the best all-rounders in New Zealand of all time. However, he has played just one Test match as he couldn’t keep up with the good game in red-ball cricket and after that, he never got a chance to represent the country in Test matches. Apart from that, he has played quite a lot of white-ball cricket, where he flourished and performed well.

When he was given a chance to play in the international tournaments, he failed to perform massively. However, he has played some really good knocks in the county games, which will be remembered forever. His performances in the county games were so significant that he was named the Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons. He joined Nottinghamshire in 2008 on a two-year deal, a move that proved to be one of the best decisions of his life. He took 68 first-class wickets for Nottinghamshire and also won the County Championship in 2010.

He maintained his consistency during the county season, and between 2011 and 2013, he claimed more than 50 wickets in three individual seasons, which is a record. Overall, he has taken 344 first-class wickets for Nottinghamshire at an average of 24.18. This included 16 five-wicket hauls and three 10-wicket hauls. In batting, he has hit 31 sixes in a season, which is still a record, and has scored three centuries as well.

Adams was a great all-rounder who couldn’t maintain his place in the national team. He has played 42 ODI matches and scored 419 runs and took 53 wickets at an average of 31.00. He also played only one Test match where he claimed six wickets and scored 18 runs in two innings. Adams played four T20Is and took three wickets and scored 13 runs. Apart from this, his entire life was dedicated to county cricket which gave him the fame he deserved. Off the field, Adams was known for his love of fishing and his involvement in various charity events.
