During the auction, Tymal Mills was acquired by RCB for 12 crores and Chris Woakes went to the Kolkata Knight Riders at Rs 4.2 crore. Other England players who were bought at their base price, included Eoin Morgan for Rs. 2 crore to the Kings XI Punjab, Jason Roy for Rs. 1 cr went to the Gujarat Lions and Chris Jordan for Rs. 50 lakhs to the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The Delhi Daredevils were particularly active during the IPL auction. Angelo Mathews, Sri Lanka captain, was purchased for Rs. 2 crore, while Corey Anderson was valued at Rs 1 crore. Kagiso Rabada, the south african fast bowler, was valued at Rs. 5 crore, while the Australian skipper Pat Cummins at Rs. 4.5 crore. The Delhi team quickly exhausted their purse, doing so within the initial 90 minutes of the auction.
During the IPL season, Ben Stokes proved to be very beneficial and a major asset for the Pune team. The NewZealand born player helped guide the team to their maiden victory, but they were ultimately defeated at their final encounter with the Mumbai Indians, who clinched the title from them.
