
The third Test match between India and England at Rajkot saw India winning the match by 434 runs which is a record as India’s biggest Test win (by runs). On the first day of the match, India won the toss and elected to bat first. India got a good start as captain Rohit Sharma was in good form as he scored 131 runs before getting out to Mark Wood.
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma didn’t get any support from the other side until Ravindra Jadeja. Ravindra Jadeja scored 112 runs and Sarfaraz Khan scored 62 runs as India posted a huge total of 445 runs. In reply to a huge total England lost a quick wicket of Zak Crawley but later Ben Duckett took control as he scored 153 runs before losing his wicket Kuldeep Yadav. However, England managed to score 319.
In the second innings of India’s batting Yashavi Jaiswal showed his class as he scored double century. Meanwhile, Shubam Gill also gave him support as he scored 91 runs. Another good innings of 68 runs from Sarfaraz Khan came as support for India. Before declaring the innings India put in a total of 430 runs.
Going for a run chase England lost the earlier wicket of Ben Duckett due to run-out. After 18 runs on the scoreboard, Zak Crawley was trapped in front of stumps by Jasprit Bumrah. Later Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets giving England a big blow. England lost their last eight wickets for just 95 runs. Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling was unplayable for England. They were bowled out on 122 runs resulting in India winning the third test by 434 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja was awarded with Man of the Match award for his performance with bat and ball. This was the second biggest defeat for England in their history. However, India took the lead by 2-1 in the five-match Test series against England.
