MLC 2025: Predicting LA Knight Riders’ playing XI vs Washington Freedom

LA Knight Riders are set to take on Washington Freedom in their next game. The knight riders began the season with three successive losses. This was followed by their win over the Seattle Orcas in their last game. Jason Holder will be happy that his side has finally got their first points on the board.

Former India U-19 World Cup-winning captain Unmukt Chand has been one of the best batters for LAKR, having scored 161 runs from four games. Chand has already scored two fifties and has been at the top of his form with the bat this season. Former England batter Alex Hales has had a poor start with the bat for LAKR in the MLC 2025 season. The right-handed batter has scored just 32 runs from four games with an average of eight. 

Middle Order 

Veteran batter Nitish Kumar has played three games so far and scored a total of twenty runs with a best of 18. In the last two games, Kumar scored one run each and will be looking to do well in the coming games. Saif Badar began the season with 17 games from his first two games and scored 86 runs in the next two games. West Indian star Rovman Powell has played two games so far and scored just five runs, and LAKR will hope that Powell can come good with the bat. 

Lower-order 

Sherfane Rutherford had a great time with the bat for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2025 season. In his maiden game for LAKR, Rutherford scored 20 not out to help his team win the game. Jason Holder and Andre Russell have years of experience with the bat and ball, and their form will be key for the Knight Riders in the second half of the season.

Tail enders 

Veteran seamer Shadley van Schalkwyk has played four games for LAKR and taken five wickets so far. Corne Dry has been consistent with the ball, taking five wickets from five matches with a best of 2/33 in their last game against Washington. Tanveer Sangha has been taking wickets consistently for LAKR in the current season.
