Royal Challengers Bengaluru lost their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 42 runs. Had RCB won the game, they would have gone to top of the table. Josh Hazlewood’s return will fill RCB team management. Tim David’s injury though will be a huge cause of concern going into the playoffs.
Phil Salt’s who scored 62 in the previous game, will be heading to England after this game to play the white-ball series against West Indies. Bowling too has been a concern for RCB with the absence of Josh Hazlewood being severely felt. Rajat Patidar’s absence on the field was seen as SRH managed to score a massive score as Jitesh Sharma failed to curtail the run flow as stand in captain.
Here is the RCB XI vs LSG
Top order

In what is set to be his final game of the season, Phil Salt will want to give RCB the win and take them to the top spots in the table. The 28-year-old has already scored 301 runs this season and needs to score 46 more runs to reach the 1000 run mark in the league. Virat Kohli, has put up yet another amazing season with the bat scoring 548 runs from 12 games with an average of 60 and strike-rate of 145.
Middle Order

Veteran batter Mayank Agarwal’s return to IPL cricket was pretty quiet as the batter managed to score just 11 runs. Agarwal who has been slotted to bat at the number three spot will be hoping to fill Devdutt Padikkal’s shoes and help RCB in the next few games. Jitesh Sharma was the captain in the last game and did well to score 24 runs but his captaincy lacked experience and he will want to bounce back harder. Romario Shepherd had a mixed=bag game scoring a golden duck but claiming two key wickets.
Lower-order
Injury to Tim David means that Liam Livingstone will get a chance to prove his worth for possible selection in the playoff games. Krunal Pandya’s form with the ball has fizzled out in the past few games, and RCB will hope that their veteran player can get back to his best. With 13 wickets from 11 games, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has shown his experience in leading then bowling attack yet again. RCB will hope that the 35-year-old can continue his form heading into the knockout phases.
Tail enders
Seamer Yash Dayal has been bankable with the ball especially in the death overs. Dayal who was close to international debut has picked just 10 wickets from 12 games this season and will want to pick more wickets to stake a claim in the national side. Lungi Ngidi has played two games this season and picked four wickets. In what will be his final game this season, the South African will hope to do well and sign off on a high. Young spinner Suyash Sharma bowled three overs in the last game and was hit for 45 runs with just one wicket. The 22-year-old has been in patchy form this season and needs to do much better if RCB has to win the title.
