Shreyas Iyer and his Punjab Kings side travel to Hyderabad to take on under fire Sunrisers Hyderabad led by Pat Cummins. The two teams have faced a reversal in fortunes in the current season. Last year it was SRH who were setting the league on fire with their firebrand cricket and PBKS were in the bottom. This year PBKS have scorched the league and Hyderabad are battling bad form.
PBKS began the season with two successive wins before losing to Rajasthan Royals at home. In the next game, Punjab beat Chennai Super Kings by 18 runs to register their third win of the season. Ahead of the game versus SRH, Iyer and his side will know that they cannot underestimate their opposition.
Here is the likely PBKS XI vs SRH
Top order – Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh

PBKS opener Priyansh Arya set the league on fire with his 39-ball century against Chennai in the last game. Arya has been one of the best young talents to come out of the season so far and is a naturally attacking batter who can take the bowlers apart. Prabhsimran Singh has been decent with the bat so far and has also been a huge asset behind the stumps.
Middle Order – Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh

Skipper Shreyas Iyer began the season with a bang but has found going tough in the last few games with the bat. Iyer though has been in great form in the last few months and will just need one inning to get back to form. Marcus Stoinis hasn’t made a great start to life as a PBKS cricketer but has all the talent to make a great comeback. Shashank Singh has carried on from where he left the last season and will want to do the same against SRH.
Lower Middle Order – Glenn Maxwell, Marco Jansen and Nehal Wadhera

Nehal Wadhera has taken to life as a PBKS batter with relative ease and has done well so far in the first few games. Wadhera has been one of the few young batters who wasn’t fazed since making his IPL debut a few years ago and will want to play a big knock for his side, Glenn Maxwell has been struggling with the bat and will want to justify his spot in the team as questions start to hover about his form. Marco Jansen played a key knock versus CSK and was at his best with the bat but went wicketless with the ball.
Tailenders –Arshdeep Singh, Lockie Ferguson and Yuzvendra Chahal

PBKS pacer Arshdeep Singh and Lockie Ferguson were decent with the ball in the last few games. Singh went wicketless against Chennai but played a key role in the back end of the innings. Ferguson picked two key wickets to break the momentum that the CSK batters had got in the last match. Chahal has had a below start to the season and his lack of involvement with the ball is sure to be a huge worry.
