IMLT20: 3 bowlers to watch out for in England Masters vs Australia Masters clash

The final league match in the International Master’s League T20 tournament will witness Australia take on England. The English side are yet to win any game and were dumped out of the tournament after their nine-wicket loss to Sri Lanka. A century from Sangakkara earned the Lankans an easy win that helped them secure their place in the playoffs. 

Australia on the other hand began the tournament slowly before hitting their strides. Shane Watson and his side have been the top-scoring side in the competition and have put many bowlers to the sword. The Aussies are already in the semi-finals and will want to end the league phase on a high with yet another win. Even with the ball the Aussies haven’t given an inch and eked out impressive wins in the tournament. 

Here are the top 3 bowlers to watch out for in the ENG-M vs AUS-M game in the IML T20:

3. Monty Panesar 

Former England spinner Monty Panesar has one of the few bright spots for his side in the current IML T20 tournament. Panesar might have retired from the game a long time ago, but the left-arm spinner hasn’t lost his magic touch with the ball. Panesar will be the one hope for Eoin Morgan if he wants to end the season on a high and help England win their first game of the campaign.

2. Ben Laughlin

Medium pacer Ben Laughlin has already picked seven wickets from the three matches that he has played. The right-arm seamer has used the old ball well to bowl his variations and beat the batters with his slower balls. Laughlin has also bowled well when called upon in the first few overs and made run-scoring difficult. In the game against South Africa, the seamer picked three wickets for 18 runs to help his side win the game.

1. Xavier Doherty 

Veteran spin bowler Xavier Doherty has been the best bowler so far in the 2025 IML T20 tournament. The 43-year-old broke the back of India’s batting with a fifer and has picked eight wickets from four games so far.  Doherty during his time as an Australian player was known to be a wicket-taking bowler and his current feats show he hasn’t lost a step so far.
