Jonny Bairstow will be playing ILT20 for the first time but his record of 5895 runs with a strike rate of 139.39 in 244 T20 games, with five centuries and 31 fifties and a best score of 116) speaks volumes of his potential. He will be tasked with giving the MI Emirates quick starts and taking advantage of powerplay overs. But he has a weak point against pacers who can bowl up and get the ball to swing.

And that is where Nuwan Thushara of Sri Lanka comes in. He has the knack of bowling it right up at the batter in powerplay overs and can swing the ball both ways. Nuwan Thushara has 170 wickets at an economy of 8.15 in 131 T20 games, including the best bowling figures of 5/13.
