Champions Trophy 2025: Predicting New Zealand’s Playing XI for their clash against India

India and New Zealand will play each other in the last group match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The match between two big teams is set to take place on Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

In their first two group matches, both teams triumphed against Bangladesh and Pakistan. New Zealand had previously won the ODI tri-series without dropping a game. On the other side, India had thrashed England 3-0. Given their recent success, India and New Zealand will be eager to win the next match to keep up their winning streak.

Will Young and Devon Conway

Will Young and Devon Conway give New Zealand a strong start in power-play overs. In the first game against Pakistan, Will Young scored a century which helped New Zealand to defeat the host nation. While Devon Conway hasn’t scored good runs so far but can score big runs when needed. He supports the other end. Coming to bat at No. 3 spot Kane Williamson anchors the innings for the team. Kane Williamson can get big runs as his experience comes for help when the team is struggling. 

Middle Order:

Going into the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, New Zealand has a strong middle order who can take the game deep. Rachin Ravindra and Tom Latham take control of the middle order and are in good form. Both batters have scored centuries for the team. Glenn Phillips has given them support in two games so far he helped the team with bat and ball both.

Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell

Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell are helpful to the team. Both the players can bat and ball well. During the last game against Michael Bracewell picked four wickets to help the team to win the game. Mitchell Santner got three wickets against Pakistan. Knowing the nature of the pitch adds power to the bowling attack.

Matt Henry

Matt Henry brings experience in the bowling unit. Since Trent Boult and Tim Southee are not in the team Matt Henry is New Zealand’s key bowler in the tournament. William O’Rourke gives him support. He has picked up five wickets in the tournament and has provided breakthroughs. Kyle Jamieson also provides support to both fast bowlers.
