BPL 2025-26: Predicting the top 3 player battles of match 28

Chattogram Royals will take on Rajshahi Warriors in match 28 of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2025–26), at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on January 16, 2026.

Chattogram Royals have participated in seven games and have 10 points after winning five games and losing two. The Rajshahi Warriors, however, have performed better, having participated in eight games and winning six and losing two.

Here are the predicted top 3 player battles of match 28 of BPL 2025-26:

1. Najmul Hossain Shanto vs Shoriful Islam

Najmul Hossain Shanto vs Shoriful Islam

Najmul Hossain Shanto has scored 292 runs at a strike rate of 142.43 in eight games, with the best score of 101*. Shanto, the Bangladesh team captain, has been in excellent form in BPL 2025-26. While his performance has dulled a bit in the tournament, Shanto remains a big threat to opposition bowlers.

Shoriful Islam has topped the bowling charts with 13 wickets at an economy of 6.92 in seven games, with the best bowling figures of 3/18. Islam is the best bet to counter Shanto. Both have played each other multiple times in the BPL and Bangladesh nets, and Shoriful knows the batter’s weakness well.

2. Adam Rossington vs Binura Fernando

Adam Rossington has made 258 runs at a strike rate of 139.25 in six games, with the best score of 73*.  Rossington has taken the challenge of batting on Bangladeshi pitches well, and his strike rate is proof that he has adapted well. He has taken the bowlers to cleaners in powerplay overs.

Binura Fernando has taken seven wickets at an economy of 6.86 in seven games, with the best bowling of 3/18. Fernando’s left-arm angle might keep Rossington quiet.

3. Mohammad Naim vs Ripon Mondol

Mohammad Naim vs Ripon Mondol

Mohammad Naim has scored 197 runs at a strike rate of 135.86 in seven games thus far in BPL 2025-26, with the best score of 54*. Naim started slow in the BPL 2025-26 and has gathered steam now. He gives the steadiness at the top, allowing other batters to hammer the bowlers.

Ripon Mondal has 13 wickets at an economy of 8.41 in six games, with best bowling of 4/13. Mondol has done well with the ball, and his job will be to dismantle the opposition batting lineup cheaply.
