The Indian team won their ninth Asia Cup title as they defeated Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai September 28, 2025.While Kuldeep Yadav shone with the ball it was a tournament where the batters ruled the roost before the bowlers took over. Despite the slower nature of the pitches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the two venues where the Asia Cup 2025 matches were played, batters showed amazing resilience and skills to score at a very good pace and conjured up record runs.

Sahibzada Farhan came into the Asia Cup 2025 with a lot of reputation after his performances in the Pakistan Super League and domestic cricket. He had an excellent time against India in the Asia Cup, scoring two fifties against them in three matches, while failing to score big in other matches. He made 40, 58, and 57 in three games against India, while scoring 29, 5, 24, and 4 against other teams.

Overall, he made 217 runs with a strike rate of 116.04 in seven games in the Asia Cup 2025, including two fifties and the best score of 58. He also hit 14 fours and 11 sixes in the Asia Cup and showed a glimpse of what he can do if groomed further and he works on his game.

Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka was the only batter to score a century in this Asia Cup 2025. He achieved this feat against India in the Super Fours stage, where Sri Lanka was chasing a 200-plus target. Nissanka also scored two fifties for Sri Lanka and helped them stay in contention for the final.

Nissanka made 261 runs at a strike rate of 160.12 in six games, including one century and two fifties, with the highest score of 107. He hit 23 fours and 11 sixes. Nissanka was by far the best batter for the Sri Lankan team, which lost its course after an unbeaten run in the group stages, only to crash out in the Super Fours.

India’s Abhishek Sharma rocked the Asia Cup 2025 tournament with his amazing batting in the powerplay against all teams. Barring the final of the Asia Cup, Abhishek Sharma scored 30 or more runs in all the matches, with a strike rate of over 200. He hammered 19 sixes and 32 fours in the tournament.

Abhishek Sharma performed inexplicably well against Pakistan, giving India quick starts in two of their three meetings. Overall, Abhishek scored 314 runs at a strike rate of 200 in seven games, including three fifties with the best score of 75.
