The World Test Championship Cycle 2023-2025 is nearing its end with the finals scheduled from June 11th to 15th at the mecca of cricket – The Lord’s. The current cycle saw 9 participants compete for a place in the finals in the sport’s toughest format. At the end of the  2-year cycle,  South Africa and Australia finished in the top two positions. South Africa finished at the top with 69.44 percentage points, while Australia finished second with 67.54 percentage points. 

India and New Zealand finished in the third and fourth spots, respectively. This cycle of WTC saw some splendid batting performances over two years. In this article, we will talk about the batters with the most runs from the WTC cycle of 2023-25.  These batters played a huge role in the overall success of their respective countries.

3. Ben Duckett

Although England finished outside the top 4 spots in the overall league standings and had a disappointing outing in the 2023-25 cycle, they found a stable opener in the form of Ben Duckett. Batting in 41 innings across 22 matches, the left-handed batter scored 1470 runs at an average of 35.75, smashing eight half-centuries and two tons. His highest score during this cycle was 182 runs against Ireland in 2023.

India remained in contention of reaching their third successive WTC finals till their last series down under. Much of it can be credited to the stylish yet destructive left-handed opener Yashaswi Jaisawal, who was the top run-getter for India in this cycle. Jaiswal has featured in 36 innings in this cycle and scored 1798 runs at an average of 52.88. His innings of 161 against Australia at Perth stands out amongst all other knocks.

The English test specialist yet again proved why he is the best modern-day test batter. He is the top run-getter in a WTC cycle for the second consecutive time. He had scored 1968 runs in 40 innings at an average of 55.  He also notched up his highest-ever test score of 262 runs in this cycle against Pakistan in Multan. He had struck seven centuries and half centuries apiece in this WTC cycle.
