In the 2024 season, Sudharsan and Gill added 210 runs for the opening wicket in a must win game against the champions Chennai Super Kings. Both the batters scored centuries as the stand of 210 runs came in just 17.2 overs. Sudharsan was out after scoring 103 which came off just 51 balls. The knock included five boundaries and seven sixes. Shubman Gill scored 104 (55 balls). Titans ended up with 231 on the board and beat CSK by 35 runs.

The best opening stand in the history of the cash-rich league belongs to KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock, who used to play for Lucknow Super Giants in the 2022 season. LSG were taking on KKR, and the IPL debutants saw their team post a massive 210 for no loss from their 20 overs. KL Rahul batted well to score 51-ball 68 not out, but the star was Quinton de Kock, who was not out on 140.
