M. Chinnaswamy Stadium witnessed a thrilling win by the Delhi Capitals (DC) as they extended their unbeaten streak in IPL 2025 with a comfortable six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 24. KL Rahul’s unbeaten 93 off 53 deliveries proved to be the match-winning knock in a contest that swung back and forth before DC crossed the line with 13 balls to spare.

RCB, asked to bat first after DC skipper Axar Patel called it correctly at the toss, had an unbelievable start. Phil Salt looked unstoppable in the powerplay, smashing 37 off just 17 balls—including a 30-run over against Mitchell Starc. The Bengaluru-based franchise raced to 53 in just 3 overs, and looked to post a big total.

Salt’s run-out, due to a mix-up with Virat Kohli, triggered a collapse. From 61/0, RCB were struggling at 102/5, with spinners Kuldeep Yadav (2/17) and Vipraj Nigam (2/18) making sure to bowl at correct lengths. Kohli (22 off 14) and Rajat Patidar (25 off 23) failed to convert their starts, while Tim David’s late cameo (37* off 20) helped RCB finish at 163/7.

In reply, DC had a poor start. Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Abishek Porel all fell cheaply, with the scorecard reading at 39/3 under six overs, with the hosts at the top. But Tristan Stubbs and KL Rahul made sure to take the onus and get the job done for their side., Rahul, who was 29 off 29 at one point, suddenly shifted gears. He began by smashing Josh Hazlewood in the 15th over, taking 22 runs off it with three fours and a six. His fifty came off 39 balls, with Stubbs (38* off 23) providing good support to hammer the opposition bowlers.

Rahul’s knock, laced with seven fours and six sixes, guided DC to 169/4 in 17.5 overs. With this win, the Capitals became the only unbeaten team this season with four wins in as many matches, while RCB suffered their second defeat.
