India women won the second T20I of the ongoing five-match series against England Women by a 24-run margin. With this, they doubled their lead in the series.

India’s victory in Bristol meant England lost two matches in a five-match bilateral T20I series for the first time ever. Prior to the current one, they had played seven bilateral five-match T20I series which comprised of 31 wins, three losses, and one washed out contest.

This was also first time India registered back-to-back wins against England in the format. The latter had never lost a game at the County Ground in any of the previous T20Is they had played at the venue. This particular unit ensured that winning streak came to an end.

Coming to the game, India posted 181/4 on the board in their 20 overs, courtesy of half-centuries from Jemimah Rodrigues (63 off 41) and Amanjot Kaur (63* off 40). They were in some trouble after going three down by the sixth over. However, a 93-run stand between the two rescued the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side. Lauren Bell (2/17 in four overs) impressed with the ball.

England could only get to 157/7 as a 35-ball 54 by Tammy Beaumont was not enough as she did not receive any support from other batters. Sophie Ecclestone (35 off 23) was the second-highest run-scorer after Beaumont, but it was a case of too little too late. Shree Charani (2/28 in four overs) was the pick of the bowlers for the Women in Blue.
