Ravindra Jadeja slid down the top 10 bowlers’ ICC rankings in men’s Tests after his outing in India’s first Test of the ongoing series against England. Jadeja was alongside a few other team members who did not have the best of games at Headingley.

As far as the spin-bowling all-rounder’s performance is concerned, he scored 11 off 15 and 25* off 40 in India’s first and second innings, respectively. However, it was his display with the ball which was more underwhelming. He bowled a total of 47 overs across both innings. Other than the wicket of Ben Stokes (33 off 51) in the second innings, he could not secure a single breakthrough.

This lackluster performance made his position slip to 13th. As of Wednesday, June 25, Jadeja possesses a rating of 706. This marks a significant event in his Test career. For the majority of it, he has been a part of the top 10 bowlers. Jadeja held the first position between March 2017 and August 2017.

Below are the top 10 ICC rankings in men’s Tests (as of June 24, 2025):

Position Player Rating
1 Jasprit Bumrah 907
2 Kagiso Rabada 868
3 Pat Cummins 847
4 Noman Ali 806
5 Josh Hazlewood 805
6 Nathan Lyon 785
7 Marco Jansen 783
8 Matt Henry 782
9 Mitchell Starc 745
10 Jayden Seales 735

India ended up getting defeated by five wickets. England pulled off a mammoth run-chase of 371 in 82 overs. Ben Duckett was awarded the Player of the Match accolade for his knocks of 62 (94) and 149 (170) in the first and second innings, respectively.

With respect to the bowling front, Josh Tongue (4/86 in 20 overs and 3/72 in 18 overs) was the standout performer. The 27-year-old right-armer registered his best bowling figures in just his fourth Test of his career.
