IPL 2025: Top 3 bowlers to watch out for in CSK vs DC clash

After facing two consecutive defeats in the last two games in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025, the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings will host Delhi Capitals in the 17th game of the tournament. Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium will host this game on Saturday, April 3:30 PM (IST). 

CSK are coming off a 6-run defeat against Rajasthan Royals in the last game following a 50-run defeat against RCB. Earlier in their campaign opener, CSK defeated MI by 4 wickets to start their campaign on a winning note. On the other hand, DC are in a comfortable position at number two in the standings, with two consecutive wins against LSG and SRH, respectively.

Noor Ahmad (CSK)  

The star left-arm wrist spinner of CSK, Noor Ahmed has been in a sensational bowling form in the tournament. He has scalped 9 wickets in three innings, with a brilliant economy rate of 6.83 and an amazing strike rate of 8.00, including a brilliant bowling average of 9.11. 

Besides that, Noor has also claimed a four-wicket haul (4 wickets at just 18 runs in a game). He is also the leading wicket-taker for his side in the tournament’s current edition. He will be one of the key factors for CSK at the spin-friendly track of MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. 

Mitchell Starc (DC) 

The veteran Delhi Capitals pacer Mitchell Starc has amazed everyone with his stunning bowling in the first two games he has bowled for his side. He completely rattled the SRH batting attack in the last game, claiming an outstanding five-wicket haul (5 wickets at 35 runs).

Starc has scalped 8 wickets in two innings, with an unbelievable bowling strike rate of just 5.75 and an amazing bowling average of 9.62. The veteran left-arm pacer is also the leading wicket-taker for his side in the tournament. 

Khaleel Ahmed (CSK) 

CSK pacer Khaleel Ahmed has scalped 6 wickets in three innings, with a decent bowling strike rate of 12.00. He has also claimed three wickets each in two innings of his three appearances so far. It also includes his best performance of ‘3 wickets at just 29 runs in a game.’ 

Khaleel is currently the second leading wicket-taker for his side in the tournament, with a good bowling average of 15.83. The 27-year-old might also make it to the list of top 3 bowlers to watch out for  in the upcoming CSK vs DC clash in Chennai.
