IMLT20 2025: Predicting West Indies Masters’ playing XI for their final clash against South Africa Masters

West Indies Masters and South Africa Masters will face each other in the 14th match of the IMLT20 2025. The match is crucial for the playoffs scenarios as West Indies’ win will help them get a step closer to qualifying for the Knockouts. The match will take place at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur, from 7:30 PM (IST) on the 14th of March 2025.

WI Masters faced a heartbreaking 7-run loss in their previous match against India Masters. The high-scoring game saw WI’s top 3 scoring the bulk of the runs as has been the case in their campaign so far. SA Masters faced a huge loss in their previous match against Australia Masters. WI Masters will start as the favorites to win. It will be a good opportunity for SA Masters to cost WI Masters’ chances.

Top Order

IMLT20 2025: Predicting West Indies Masters’ playing XI for their final clash against South Africa Masters
Dwayne Smith

West Indies Masters’ batting is highly reliant on their Top 3. The opening duo of Dwayne Smith and Lendl Simmons are the best the men in maroon have to offer. Lendl might open alongside Dwayne, which will be best for their combination. To follow them could be William Perkins, who is a better batter than Denesh Ramdin, while the latter is a better wicketkeeper.

Middle Order

Brian Lara

West Indies’ middle order isn’t as good as their batters haven’t played a significant role in their team’s win. Brian Lara could bat at 4 as the opponent is strong with high stakes. Jonathan Carter and Kirk Edwards might bat at 5 and 6. The duo hasn’t shined with the bat so far. It could be their opportunity to step up and help their team’s cause against SA Masters.

Lower Middle Order

Ashley Nurse

In the lower middle order, West Indies has the likes of Ashley Nurse and Narsingh Deonarine. Nurse has been good as a batter and as a bowler. He’s one of the best players of the tournament so far. Likewise, Deonarine has been decent I’m his job and might have to be at his best for the West Indies Masters to stand any chance against the South Africa Masters.

Bowlers

Jerome Taylor

The West Indian bowling attack is their biggest strength despite an off day against India Masters. Apart from Nurse and Deonarine, WI has the likes of Jerome Taylor, Tino Best, and Sulieman Benn. As a bowling unit, WI has been good. They would like to forget their outing against India Masters and focus on the task in their hands. Nurse will be key for the West Indies Masters in the middle overs.
