Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants will take on each other in match number 21 of the Indian Premier League 2023 at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Lucknow Super Giants will be entering the contest on the back of a thrilling win over Royal Challengers Bangalore, courtesy of ruthless power hitting from Nicholas Pooran at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. LSG first hammered Delhi Capitals by 50 runs before registering their only loss of the tournament so far, against Chennai Super Kings. They then returned two more victories against Sunrisers Hyderabad and RCB to find themselves in a comfortable second position in the IPL Points Table.

In the batting department, Kyle Mayers smashed back-to-back fifties in the first two games but failed to pull off a similar run in LSG’s last two matches against SRH and RCB, respectively. Nicholas Pooran, on the other hand, took RCB bowlers to the cleaners in the last game, eventually registering the fastest fifty by an LSG batter in just 15 balls. As far as bowling is concerned, Mark Wood has been impressive with 9 wickets in three games, including a five-wicket haul against DC in their campaign opener.

Punjab Kings, on the other hand, will be coming into the contest after sustaining losses in their last two matches. They, however, started off their campaign on a positive note, registering impressive victories in their first two matches. Their batting has mostly been about Shikhar Dhawan who has been magnificent in the four games played so far, aggregating 233 runs at an impressive average of 116.50, struck at a rate of 146.5.

Arshdeep Singh has been the stand-out performer in the bowling department with 7 wickets in four games. With two wins and two losses, PBKS are placed in the sixth position on the points table. They would look to bounce back the winning ways when they face Lucknow at the latter’s home ground.
