Buoyant Africans to face the Men in Blues at home

In international cricket, the Indian cricket team is now on a tour of South Africa for a series of Tests and ODIs, where 3 Tests and 3 ODIs will be held. The tour is set to begin with the first Test on December 26 at SuperSport Park, Centurion. The second Test will be played on January 3 at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg and the third Test will be played on January 11 at Newlands in Cape Town.

South Africa and India have met in a total of 39 Tests since 1992. South Africa has won 15 matches and India has won 14 matches and 10 of them have been drawn. The last time the two teams met was in a three-match Test series in India in October 2019, where the Men in the Blue were whitewashed by visiting South Africa.

India played their last two-match Test series against visiting New Zealand, and they won the series (1-0) against the Kiwis. South Africa, on the other hand, won their last two-match Test series against the host West Indies by 2-0.

Out of the last 5 Test series, India has won 3. The two losing series were against the Kiwis. South Africa, on the other hand, has won just two of their last five-Test series.

So even though South Africa is ahead in terms of the statistics of these two teams, the players of the Indian team will now be much more confident due to the success of the latest series at home and abroad. But this time the Proteas are going to play on home soil. So they will try hard to make the series memorable.

India ranks 1st and South Africa is in 6th position in the ICC Test Rankings. So, the Proteas have to work hard in this series to build a solid position in the points table.
