Top 3 Highest Individual Scores After Ranji Trophy 2026-27 Phase 1

Top 3 Highest Individual Scores After Ranji Trophy 2026-27 Phase 1

The opening phase of the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 season has produced some outstanding batting performances, with several players making headlines through marathon innings and double-centuries. The first four rounds of India’s premier domestic red-ball competition have witnessed record-breaking knocks, including a historic quadruple-century by Mizoram’s Chinmay Sutar.

Baroda’s Priyanshu Moliya and Delhi captain Ayush Badoni have also delivered remarkable performances, highlighting the depth of batting talent in the tournament.

Here are 3 best individual scores after Phase 1:

3. Ayush Badoni – 217 for Delhi vs Gujarat

Delhi captain Ayush Badoni completes the top three after scoring a brilliant 217 against Gujarat. His innings came off just 246 deliveries and included 22 fours and two sixes, making it one of the most fluent double-centuries of the opening phase.

Badoni led from the front and played a crucial role in Delhi’s massive first-innings total of 648 declared. His ability to combine attacking strokeplay with sound defensive technique helped him dominate the Gujarat bowling attack.

One of the major highlights of his innings was his 234-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Priyansh Arya, who narrowly missed out on a double-century after scoring 199. The partnership put Delhi in a commanding position and allowed the team to dictate the course of the match.

Badoni’s 217 was also a personal milestone, as it became his highest first-class score, surpassing his previous best of 205 not out. Interestingly, he added another double-century to his tally during Phase 1, scoring an unbeaten 210 against Jharkhand.

His two double-centuries underline his importance to Delhi’s batting lineup and make him one of the most consistent performers of the opening phase.

2. Priyanshu Moliya – 321* for Baroda vs Jammu and Kashmir

Priyanshu Moliya produced another outstanding batting display for Baroda, scoring an unbeaten 321 against Jammu and Kashmir. His innings ranks second on the list and was particularly impressive because of the patience and discipline he displayed against a competitive bowling attack.

Moliya faced 492 deliveries and struck 36 fours and one six. Rather than relying on aggressive strokeplay, he focused on building his innings through partnerships and punishing loose deliveries. His ability to maintain concentration over such a long period helped Baroda post a formidable total of 616.

The knock also carried historical significance for Baroda cricket. Moliya surpassed Gul Mohammad’s previous record of 319 to register the highest individual first-class score by a Baroda batter.

His innings demonstrated his ability to handle pressure and construct a substantial score in challenging red-ball conditions. It also strengthened his credentials as one of the most promising batting performers of the current domestic season.

Although Sutar’s quadruple-century remains the standout performance, Moliya’s unbeaten triple-century was another major highlight of the opening four rounds.

1. Chinmay Sutar – 400* for Mizoram vs Nagaland

Mizoram’s Chinmay Sutar occupies the top position after producing one of the most extraordinary batting performances in Ranji Trophy history. The right-handed batter smashed an unbeaten 400 against Nagaland in the Plate Group, becoming only the second player to score a quadruple-century in the tournament’s history.

Sutar’s marathon innings came off 517 deliveries and included 46 boundaries and seven sixes. His remarkable concentration and ability to bat for extended periods helped Mizoram put together a commanding batting performance.

The innings was particularly significant because it placed Sutar in an exclusive group of batters who have reached the 400-run mark in the Ranji Trophy. His knock also formed part of an impressive run during the opening phase of the competition, as he registered scores of 35, 99, 400*, 125 and 175.

The consistency of his performances has made him one of the standout batters of the 2026-27 season. His quadruple-century is comfortably the highest individual score recorded during Phase 1.
