The WPL 2027 auction took place in Kochi on October 28, 2026, with all five franchises reshaping their squads ahead of the upcoming season. Several players changed hands in competitive bidding, with a few deals standing out as particularly smart pieces of business.
Each franchise secured at least one player who could make a meaningful difference to their combination. Here is a look at the best signing for each of the five WPL teams from the October 28 auction.
Here are best signing for each franchise:
1. Kiran Navgire — Delhi Capitals

Kiran Navgire entered the WPL 2027 auction at a base price of INR 40 lakh and was eventually secured by Delhi Capitals for INR 75 lakh. Mumbai Indians also placed bids for the hard-hitting batter, underlining the demand she attracted on the day.
Navgire spent four seasons with UP Warriorz, accumulating 435 runs across 31 WPL matches, which included three half-centuries. She has also represented India in six T20Is. Her record-breaking 34-ball century for Maharashtra against Punjab, the fastest in women’s T20 cricket at the time and one that surpassed Sophie Devine’s mark, had earlier brought her wide recognition.
2. G Kamalini — Gujarat Giants

G Kamalini was picked up by Gujarat Giants for INR 40 lakh at the WPL 2027 auction. Gujarat Giants head coach Michael Klinger described her as the most talented batter available at the auction.
Kamalini had two seasons with Mumbai Indians, appearing in 14 games and scoring 107 runs during that period. She has also earned five T20I caps for India. Mumbai Indians had retained her ahead of the WPL 2026 season before she became available at this auction.
3. Shweta Sehrawat — Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians secured Shweta Sehrawat for INR 20 lakh at the WPL 2027 auction. The young batter had previously been with UP Warriorz for four seasons, playing 30 games and scoring 307 runs in that time.
Notably, UP Warriorz had chosen to retain Sehrawat ahead of the WPL 2026 auction, releasing even Deepti Sharma, who had won the Player of the Tournament award at the recent ODI World Cup. Mumbai Indians’ decision to bring her in at her base price looks a shrewd piece of recruitment.
4. Chloe Tryon — Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Royal Challengers Bengaluru signed South Africa’s Chloe Tryon for INR 30 lakh in the second round of accelerated bidding at the WPL 2027 auction. Tryon had previously featured in one WPL season with UP Warriorz, playing five games at INR 30 lakh.
Across 131 international T20Is, Tryon has scored 1,422 runs and taken 51 wickets, making her one of the more experienced all-rounders in the women’s game. She had been released by Mumbai Indians ahead of the WPL 2026 auction before RCB moved for her at this auction.
5. Sophie Molineux — UP Warriorz

UP Warriorz made the biggest individual spend of the auction on an overseas player, buying Australia’s Sophie Molineux for INR 1.1 crore. Molineux had entered the auction at a base price of INR 50 lakh.
The left-arm spinner and lower-order batter had previously played 10 games for Royal Challengers Bengaluru but missed the last WPL edition entirely. Internationally, Molineux has taken 57 wickets and scored 118 runs across 54 matches, giving UP Warriorz a proven international option in their bowling attack.
