Shai Hope has moved to joint-third on the all-time list of fifty-plus scorers for West Indies in T20 Internationals. The West Indies captain achieved the milestone with a knock of 52 off 37 balls against India on October 6 2026 in Lucknow, taking his tally to 14 fifty-plus scores and drawing level with Brandon King.

Hope’s innings contained 6 fours and 2 sixes, and he scored at a strike rate of 140.54. He put on a 63-run stand with Sherfane Rutherford that helped West Indies post a total of 171 in the opening match of the five-match series. Hope also leads the side in this series, adding the captaincy responsibility to his batting duties at the top of the order.

Where does Hope rank among West Indies’ all-time T20I fifty-plus scorers?

Chris Gayle sits at the top of the West Indies T20I fifty-plus list with 16 such scores. Evin Lewis is second on 15, while Hope and King are now tied at 14, sharing third place. Nicholas Pooran is next with 13 fifty-plus scores for the side.

Hope’s broader T20I record underlines his consistency at the top of the order. Across 70 matches, he has accumulated 1,743 runs at a strike rate of 136.59. His 14 fifty-plus scores comprise 1 century and 12 fifties, a breakdown that confirms the arithmetic supplied in the evidence.
