Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah once again showed his lighter side off the field as he tried out a custom-made ergonomic pillow during India’s visit to Japan.
Bumrah featured in an Instagram reel shared by his teammate Axar Patel, who also took on the role of the cameraman. The video showed the Indian pacer visiting a Japanese bedding studio and undergoing a detailed fitting process for a personalised pillow.
The store specialists carried out neck alignment checks and took contour measurements before Bumrah tested the custom-made support. The process also gave the India stars plenty of opportunities for some light-hearted banter.
As Patel filmed the entire experience, Bumrah appeared impressed by the attention to detail involved in making the pillow. The left-arm spinner could also be heard laughing from behind the camera as his teammate tried out different support designs.
Bumrah then turned towards Patel and joked, “Mere baad tu hai” (You’re right after me), before settling into the personalised cushion.
The India pacer also admitted that he had never given his sleeping arrangements this much thought.
“Itni jaanch padtaal ke baad kabhi maine apne sone ke baare mein socha nahi hai” (I’ve never thought about my sleep in this much detail before), Bumrah said.

Sanjana Ganesan hilariously reacts to Jasprit Bumrah’s pillow video
The video also caught the attention of Bumrah’s wife and sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan, who couldn’t resist taking a cheeky dig at the pacer over his Japanese itinerary.
Reacting to Patel’s Instagram reel, Ganesan wrote, “You’ve gone ALL THE WAY to Japan to do THIS?”
Her comment added another layer of humour to the already entertaining video, with the reel quickly grabbing attention from fans.
Bumrah was part of India’s squad for the historic one-off T20I against Japan at the Sano International Cricket Ground. However, the premier pacer did not bowl in the rain-curtailed five-over contest, with captain Shreyas Iyer opting to rely on his spinners.
India eventually completed the contest in a shortened format after rain disrupted proceedings.
