The fourth match of the Lankan Premier League (LPL) will be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo on Sunday, July 19. Jaffna Kings and Dambulla Sixers are going to face each other in this mouth-watering fixture. Talking about the Sixers, they have started their campaign with a comprehensive win against the Kandy Royals. Dinesh Chandimal and Co. would want to go from strength to strength on Sunday.
Dambulla Sixers’ Predicted Playing XI vs Jaffna Kings, 4th Match in LPL 2026:
Top-order: Dinesh Chandimal (C), Sahibzada Farhan, Niroshan Dickwella (WK)
Skipper Chandimal was dismissed cheaply in the last game. He made only eight before falling to Shaheen Afridi. Sahibzada Farhan, the highest run-getter in the T20 World Cup 2026, played an enterprising cameo in the last game. Niroshan Dickwella, however, departed for just seven runs. He will want to make a strong comeback on Sunday.
Middle-order: Reeza Hendricks, Pavan Rathnayake, Gulbadin Naib, Dhananjaya Lakshan
Reeza Hendricks generally bats at the top but Dambulla has a plethora of openers in their line-up. That is why he had to bat at No. 4. However, that wasn’t a problem for Hendricks as he slammed 87* off just 50 balls in the last game. Pavan Rathnayake is a talented middle-order batter but he couldn’t do justice to his potential against Kandy. He was dismissed for just seven. Gulbadin Naib came in as the Impact Sub and played a blinder of an innings. In 23 balls, he smashed 46 runs and remained unbeaten. The Afghanistan all-rounder also bagged two wickets in as many overs. Dhananjaya Lakshan walked out to bat ahead of Naib in the last game and scored a run-a-ball six. He also took the new ball but gave away a lot of runs.
Bowlers: Vishwa Lahiru, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Dushmantha Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana
The left-arm orthodox spinner, Vishwa Lahiru, had a decent outing, conceding 30 runs in four overs on a belter of a track. He will be crucial through the middle overs. Mohammad Wasim Jr and Dushmantha Chameera picked up three wickets between them in the last game. However, both of them were slightly expensive. Maheesh Theekshana bowled a tidy spell, picking up one wicket in four overs and giving away 33 runs. His spell could be defining on Sunday.
Dambulla Sixers: Dinesh Chandimal (C), Sahibzada Farhan, Niroshan Dickwella (WK), Reeza Hendricks, Pavan Rathnayake, Gulbadin Naib, Dhananjaya Lakshan, Vishwa Lahiru, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Dushmantha Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana.
