Top 3 ODI knocks of Smriti Mandhana

Smriti Mandhana has been playing ODI cricket for the last 13 years, having made her international debut way back in 2013 against Bangladesh. She has had a stellar ODI career, smashing 5411 runs in 120 matches at an average of 47.88 and a strike rate of 90.37. The southpaw has 35 fifties and 14 centuries to her name. She turns 30 on Saturday, July 18. On this auspicious occasion, let’s take a look at three of the best knocks played by India’s vice-captain in ODI cricket.

Top 3 ODI knocks of Smriti Mandhana:

3. 136 vs South Africa (Bengaluru, 2024)

Smriti Mandhana‘s highest ODI score came against South Africa at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on June 19, 2024. This was the second ODI in the three-match series. Shafali Verma and Dayalan Hemalatha got starts but couldn’t convert them into substantial scores. Mandhana didn’t get off the mark after facing 18 deliveries. However, she adjusted to the conditions wonderfully and went on to smash 136 off just 120 balls, belting 18 fours and two sixes. Harmanpreet Kaur also scored a century in that game as India posted 325/3. In reply, the Proteas were restricted to 321/6 as India bagged the series.

2. 125 vs Australia (Delhi, 2025)

This magnificent knock came against Australia in the decisive third ODI at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on September 20, 2025. On a belter of a track, Australia posted a massive 412 and not many gave India a chance of coming even close to the target. However, Mandhana played a swashbuckling knock, taking the Australian bowlers to the cleaners with a scintillating display of batting. She amassed 125 off just 63 balls, hitting 17 fours and five sixes. The left-handed batter had a strike rate of 198.41. She brought up her century in just 50 balls, the fastest by an Indian batter in women’s ODIs and second overall, only to Meg Lanning. While the tourists eventually won the match, India’s vice-captain gave them a real scare.

1. 106 vs West Indies (Taunton, 2017 World Cup)

Mandhana was only 20 years old at the time of the 2017 ODI World Cup. Against the West Indies, India had to chase down a tricky 184-run target at the County Ground in Taunton on June 29, 2017. India lost two wickets rather quickly, but Mandhana held fort. She anchored the innings but also batted at an impressive strike rate. The elegant batter finished unbeaten on 106 off 108 balls in a knock that comprised 13 boundaries and two sixes. India reached the target in 42.3 overs, and the Mumbai batter stayed at the crease till the end to take her team to a seven-wicket victory.
