ZIM vs BAN, 1st T20I: BAN Pred XI

ZIM vs BAN, 1st T20I BAN Pred XI

Bangladesh will want to end their torrid tour to Africa on a good note when they take on Zimbabwe in the first T20I on Wednesday, July 15, at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. The Tigers have already lost the one-off Test match and the One Day International (ODI) series to the hosts.

Bangladesh’s last T20I assignment was against Australia on home soil. After their famous triumph against the 50-over world champions in ODIs, they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Mitchell Marsh’s side. Before their series against Australia, they also faced New Zealand on home soil, with the series ending 1-1.

Zimbabwe, meanwhile, would be in a good mental state after already dominating their opponents in two formats. The African minnows have slowly started to build an excellent side comprising talented players, including Ben Curran, Blessing Muzarabani, Brian Bennett and Richard Ngarava. Zimbabwe will be captained by the experienced Sikandar Raza in the shortest format of the game.

Bangladesh Predicted XI:

Top Order: Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy (C), Yasir Ali

The Bangladesh batting order will be relying on captain Towhid Hridoy for early runs after his stellar time against Australia on home soil. He scored an unbeaten 61 in the third T20I despite ending on the losing side. Tanzid Hasan’s T20I form, meanwhile, is a cause for concern for the Tigers. The 25-year-old, however, scored two consecutive half-centuries against Zimbabwe in the ODIs, including 94 in the third game.

Middle Order: Parvez Hossain Emon (WK), Mahedi Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin

The Bangladesh middle order consists of all-rounders Mahedi Hasan and Mosaddek Hossain. The pair have been extremely economical with the ball in the 20-over format, conceding runs at just 6.76 and 7.21, respectively. Meanwhile, there would be added pressure on wicketkeeper-batter Parvez Hossain Emon after his subpar series against Australia. He scored just 47 runs from three matches.

Bowlers: Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana, Shoriful Islam

Shoriful Islam and the experienced Taskin Ahmed will be asked to lead Bangladesh’s pace-bowling department. The latter has been amongst the wickets in ODIs, taking two wickets in all three matches. Islam, on the other hand, is coming on the back of a four-wicket haul in the third ODI.

Bangladesh: Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy (C), Yasir Ali, Parvez Hossain Emon (WK), Mahedi Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana, Shoriful Islam.
