Bangladesh physio Bayzedul Islam Khan has revealed that star batter Litton Das will not feature in the first One Day International (ODI) against Zimbabwe due to his calf injury. The right-handed batter has still been picked in the squad for the three-match series in southern Africa.

According to Islam Khan, Das is on the verge of recovering from his Grade I injury, but is still almost certain to miss out on the first game of the series. However, signs look promising for him featuring in the remaining two matches. The three-match ODI series commences on July 6, just four days after the conclusion of the one-off Test match against Zimbabwe.

Litton Das is suffering from an injury in his left calf muscle. It’s a Grade I injury. It usually takes two to three weeks to recover from an injury like that. Two weeks have already passed. We are expecting him to recover by the end of the third week. The possibility of him playing in the first ODI is almost nil, but he should be able to play in the second and third ODIs if he can meet all the parameters of our fitness test,”  Bangladesh team physio Bayzedul Islam Khan said, via Cricinfo.

Das comes into the tour of Zimbabwe having last represented Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series against defending world champions Australia, which the Tigers went on to win 2-1. His best outing came in the third game in Mirpur, where he scored an unbeaten 58 in a losing cause.

Das’ injury saw him miss out on the subsequent T20I series against the Aussies, which Bangladesh lost 3-0.

The squad will once again be led by Mehidy Hassan Miraz, who returns after missing the third ODI against Australia. He has also been rested from the solitary Test match of the Zimbabwe tour, with sights firmly set on prioritising white-ball cricket.

Bangladesh’s ODI squad vs Zimbabwe 2026:

Mehidy Hassan Miraz (C), Soumya Sarkar, Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Litton Das, Mosaddek Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana
