Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents, not only in Indian cricket but across the world. The 15-year-old’s name has been on the lips of every cricket fan in the country following his exploits in the recently concluded 2026 Indian Premier League, where he ended up winning the Orange Cap, the Most Valuable Player award and the Emerging Player of the Season award.
However, due to his tender age, Sooryavanshi has been caught in many on-field dramas where he fails to control his strong adrenaline rush and gets involved in various controversies. The left-hander will learn with age and time, but it certainly does not paint a pretty picture for his budding career, where he should be looking to hone his on-field skills.
Here are 3 instances when Vaibhav Sooryavanshi lost his temper:
3. 2025 Asia Cup Rising Stars vs Bangladesh

In one of the most dramatic games in recent times, the semi-final between India A and Bangladesh during the 2025 Rising Stars Asia Cup was one of Sooryavanshi’s first instances of losing his cool due to on-field performance.
With the game heading into a Super Over, captain Jitesh Sharma made a bold decision not to include Sooryavanshi and instead opened the batting with Ramandeep Singh. The right-hander tried to play an audacious reverse ramp shot, which castled his stumps. Following the wicket, the 15-year-old batter was noticed having an angry moment.
2. 2025 Under-19s Asia Cup Final vs Pakistan

Sooryavanshi also had a confrontation with the opposition bowler during the final of the 2025 Under-19s Asia Cup in Dubai. The left-handed opener made a flying start to India’s run chase, scoring 26 runs off just nine balls before being dismissed by Ali Raza towards the start of the fourth over. The Bihar cricketer gestured to the bowler, which indicated if he considered Raza the same as the mud on his boots.
The Rajasthan Royals starlet did not react well to the bowler’s aggressive celebrations. While heading back to the pavilion, the opening batter angrily pointed to his shoes, suggesting something derogatory. India U-19 went on to suffer a massive 191-run defeat in the final after failing to chase down 348.
1. Tri-Nations Series vs Sri Lanka A

The most recent episode of the Samastipur-born left-handed batter losing his temper on the field against Sri Lanka A during the Tri-Nations Series game in Dambulla in June 2026. Having been picked for India A for the first time in his young career, the 15-year-old had a burden of expectations on his shoulders.
Sooryavanshi had not enjoyed the best of times in the series leading into the game against the hosts. In a dramatic end to the game, which went into a Super Over, India A failed to chase down 17 runs in a one-over shootout, resulting in huge celebrations from Sri Lanka. At the moment, the batter was involved in a heated clash, where he was seen physically manhandling Vishen Halambage.
