Arshdeep Singh has landed in fresh controversy after a Snapchat exchange with a fan sparked another wave of backlash on social media. The Punjab Kings pacer, who has already faced criticism this IPL season over remarks made in viral videos, is once again under scrutiny for his online conduct.

Arshdeep, regarded as one of the more fan-friendly young cricketers because of his candid vlogs and dressing-room interactions, has endured a turbulent few weeks away from the field. The latest controversy erupted after screenshots of his response to a fan began circulating widely online.

The incident comes shortly after Arshdeep was criticised for remarks directed at Tilak Varma in a video recorded ahead of Punjab Kings’ IPL clash against Mumbai Indians. In the clip, Arshdeep turned the camera towards Tilak and said, “Oye Andhere, sunscreen lagaaya?” loosely translating to, “Hey, dark one, did you apply sunscreen?”

The comment quickly drew criticism on social media, with several users accusing the India pacer of making insensitive remarks about Tilak’s skin tone. The video spread rapidly online, triggering widespread backlash from fans.

In the same clip, Arshdeep then pointed towards Mumbai Indians batter Naman Dhir and remarked in Punjabi, “Aa dekh, aa hai Punjab da asli noor, te aa hai nakli,” which translates to, “Look, this is the real glow of Punjab, and this is fake.”

The controversy escalated further after a fan reacted online and urged Arshdeep to stop using Punjab’s name in the IPL, claiming his actions were embarrassing Punjab Kings supporters.

Responding to the criticism, Arshdeep wrote, “What have you done for Punjab, Singh saab? People who still ask family for chips and cold drink money are now advising me on Punjab?”

Screenshots of the exchange soon went viral, with many users criticising the fast bowler for his tone and behaviour. Several fans questioned why a senior India international would engage in public arguments with supporters while already facing backlash over previous incidents.
