The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) move out of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and play at their new home at Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium when they face Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 54 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Sunday, May 10.

The defending champions have just lost their way a little in the tournament, losing two matches on the bounce. Their most recent defeat came against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana International Stadium.

Despite their recent dip in form, RCB still remain one of the favourites to secure a top-four berth and qualify for the playoffs. Rajat Patidar’s side has a balanced playing combination that does not need much cropping and changing, and as a result, they could once again name a side familiar to most cricket fans in the country.

Here is RCB’s strongest predicted XI vs MI for Match 54, IPL 2026:

Top Order: Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal

Virat Kohli will once again be expected to open alongside Jacob Bethell, who generally is RCB’s designated impact sub player when they chase a total. The England all-rounder hasn’t had the best of times in the IPL this season, scoring just 43 runs from four innings. Devdutt Padikkal, meanwhile, has established himself at number three, scoring at a strike rate of 180.57 all season long.

Middle Order: Rajat Patidar (captain), Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya

Apart from skipper Rajat Patidar and Tim David to an extent, RCB’s middle order has struggled to find runs consistently. Romario Shepherd has just 79 runs to his name, while wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma averages just eight in this year’s IPL. The defending champions, however, will not want to change a winning formula as the tournament nears its business end.

Bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Suyash Sharma, Rasikh Dar

Amongst all the batting stars in their squad, it is RCB’s bowling unit that has seen them secure the win on multiple occasions. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is still the holder of the Purple Cap with 17 wickets to his name this season at an economy rate of 7.64. Meanwhile, both Krunal Pandya and Josh Hazlewood have chipped in with 10 and nine wickets, respectively.
